  • What advice would you give to someone starting out their career at Business Data Partners?

My advice would be to learn as much as you can from the people around you. You’ll have opportunities to work with some very bright and experienced people so watch and learn and don’t be afraid to ask questions – everyone’s friendly!

  • What do you like most about your role?

Definitely the variety – I can’t imagine getting bored in this role! In a relatively short space of time, I’ve been exposed to different sectors, different technologies, and different client cultures. This means the work is always fresh and exciting (not to mention challenging) and I’ve gained a lot of valuable experience quite quickly.

  • What attracted you to working at BDP?

The company has a very strong sense of community. The nature of our work means that we work in different teams, across different clients, and often embedded within teams of in-house employees. BDP put a lot of effort into making sure that in this context we don’t lose sight of our shared identity, and that our networks of support, advice, and friendships span the whole company.

  • What does a typical day look like for you?

To be honest, my work can be so varied that a ‘typical’ day doesn’t come around that regularly. Recently I’ve been doing a lot of incident-based work though, so an example might be a day on which an urgent issue has been raised and I’ve been asked to investigate it.

  • What are the opportunities available to help you progress and develop at BDP?

BDP offers a wide range of opportunities in the Data & Analytics area in many industries such as Banking, local government and retail.

  • What do you like most about your role?

I like that I’ve been doing new and challenging things in all my roles. I especially like the opportunity to work in different companies and different projects.

  • What attracted you to working at BDP?

I like small companies with relatively flat structures where everyone knows everyone from the CEO to the person who joined last week, to the HR person. Every time I have a specific need I always know who to contact.

  • What makes BDP a unique company to work for?

It’s a cliché but it really is the culture. We support everyone, we have numerous social events to keep in touch and know our colleagues, the management team is very talented and approachable and I have complete trust in them to grow BDP.

  • What advice would you give to someone starting out their career at Business Data Partners?

Take the opportunity to ask as many questions and learn as much as possible. The company offers great training opportunities so I’d encourage people to take advantage of this in order to develop both their technical and consulting skills. Our culture means we all work together so I’d encourage those starting out their careers to take the chance to learn from their colleagues and not be afraid to ask any questions.

  • What do you like most about your role?

I like the fact that I get the chance to work with various different technologies across different roles. I feel this allows me to continually develop my skills with every new role I take and continue to learn new skills. It is nice to feel that we add value to our client’s businesses by applying our expertise to what they are doing.

  • What attracted you to working at BDP?

B&D’s culture and values. They are a great company to work for and will give you the tools and opportunities that you need in order to continually develop your career.

  • What does a typical day look like for you?

A typical day for me is usually spent on client site, working on various different projects.

  • What is your greatest achievement whilst working at BDP?

I’d say my greatest achievement has been joining as a Graduate and working my way up the levels to being a Senior Consultant today. I always try to develop my skills and look forward to continuing this going forward.
